CTOUCH has joined Eco-Schools Netherlands as a proud supporter of the programme. Eco-Schools is the largest global sustainable school programme, actively engaging students in thinking and actions that promote environmental awareness. Eco-Schools is a programme of the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), world's largest environmental education organisation.
The Eco-Schools programme
At present, 59,000 schools in 68 countries participate in this programme, which originated from the United Nations conference on Environment and Development in 1992. It emphasises the importance of engaging children and young people in the worldwide effort towards sustainability.
In seven steps, students examine their schools and undertake actions to enhance sustainability - whether it's saving energy, reducing waste, or creating a greener schoolyard. Schools achieving the highest standards can earn the international certification for sustainable schools, known as the Green Flag.
