We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded the Editors Choice Award at the AV News Awards 2020, hosted at ISE. The Award was given to recognise CTOUCH’ commitment to sustainability in both manufacturing, recycling and general usage of raw materials.
We strongly believe that the environmental footprint and circularity of the consumer electronics that make our lives so much better, should become a key topic on the agenda of AV industry pioneers.
Remmelt Van Der Woude, CEO at CTOUCH, was delighted by the accolade: “Of course we are all excited by the rate of technological change and the possibilities that technology can bring to our leisure time as well as our learning and working lives. The sustainability drive from CTOUCH brings with it a raft of new innovations that enhance the working and learning environments, futureproofing them at the same time.
With the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), CTOUCH conducted research on the CO2 impact of manufacturing and using touchscreens. This resulted in a circularity passport for our products which creates awareness about the CO2 impact of touchscreens. It also triggers dialogs with our partners about re-usage of these electronics, creating environmental and commercial benefits.
To bring the re-usage mission into practice CTOUCH introduces the BRIX concept. This is a family of modular products, using the touchscreen as a basic platform, which is upgradeable via modules. Companies will be able to upgrade or migrate to different collaboration solutions within their meeting room or huddle space. This can be done without having to completely replace their CTOUCH touchscreen. It saves time, money and above all, by expanding the lifespan of our touchscreens we reduce loads of CO2 emission.
